So I made the decision and am getting the Xbox One (I like to call it X-Bone) now that it's down to a more wallet-friendly $350 ($335 for Costco members) including a game or two. I thought I was going to get me sweet, little, trigger-happy fingers on the new white console—it's so beautiful—bundled with Sunset Overdrive, but that thing is selling out like a damn iPhone! Congrats Microsoft! You finally made a success out of your year-old console! These price drops just might be what Microsoft needed to catch up in customer base to their Sony rivals.
I am sad that my friends are so gung-ho on the PS4, but I don't really do online gaming that much anyway. Sunset Overdrive was enough of a tipping point to reel me onto the green team.
My wifey-dearest, Jill, went to Costco for me today (she's the name on our Costco Membership) and picked up the Assassins Creed - Unity bundle. Not only do you get the additional $15 savings at Costco, but you can't beat their return policy. So if the hardware turns out to be less than satisfactory, we can just take it on back to Costco for a 100% refund (Even if we wait like 5 years). But the reports of problems on the Xbox One are a lot less frequent than its predecessor. I trust it'll keep me a happy gamer for years to come.
Tomorrow's my birthday and my cousin Garret is being a bad ass and driving all the way up to Salt Lake City from Cedar City to join me and my friend Officer Gary to have some beer, wings, and slaughter some 12-year-olds in the new Call of Duty - Advanced Warfare. Cuz if my birthday means anything the last 8 years, it means New-Call-of-Duty season.
