I took an Artificial Intelligence course at the University of Utah which consisted of several projects that paralleled the AI course at UC Berkeley. They provided all the graphics and most of the functions of the Pac-man and Ghost sprites, but we had to implement the search and observation functions.

Ain't afraid of no Ghost

Here Pac-man is observing the movement patterns of the ghost.  He is constantly adjusting his prediction of where the ghost might be in the next couple moves. You'll see the glow shift outside the box because Pac-man observes that the ghost is never moving into that area.
